SPOKANE VALLEY -- This winter, a major fire gutted a historic Spokane Valley landmark, but owners promise to return it to its glory days.
In the early morning hours of December 23, a fire broke out inside the Cliff House mansion that sits atop the hill at Arbor Crest Winery.
The fire destroyed everything inside the mansion, including many irreplaceable items, and now just the shell of the structure remains in tact.
However, as soon as next month, owners say they will begin the major rebuilding process, restoring the mansion from the inside out.
"There is nothing we want to do to change the exterior and the view that has been here since 1924," says owner Jim van Loben Sels. "It's so important to bring it back to where it was."
Since the fire, Arbor Crest has been open for business as normal, though no one has been allowed around or inside the mansion.
