PORTLAND – A new study about sleep habits suggests night owls were more creative, while morning people excelled in school.

Two studies published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences analyzed the sleep habits of mostly college students over the course of 20 years.

One study showed that night owls were often more creative. It also linked the “Dark Triad” of personality traits, which include narcissism, self-importance and entitlement, to night people.

Another study showed that morning people thrived in academics but they tended to be more rigid, less adaptable and less wealthy than night people.

Both studies mostly analyzed college students. Experts noted that sleeping patterns tend to change as people get older.
