SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.--a 50-year-old driver died Wednesday night when his vehicle slammed head-on into a pole near Sprague and Fancher.
Authorities said the driver died at the scene.
Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on scene around 11:45 p.m. The four-door sedan had hit a power pole. Investigators determined that the driver was traveling westbound on Sprague and had not been wearing his seatbelt.
The passenger was wearing a seatbelt. Authorities said the 30-year-old passenger was responsive and suffered minor injuries.
Deputies believe alcohol and/or drugs were contributing factors to the crash.
