SPOKANE-- Crews responded to a large gas line break in North Spokane Wednesday around 10:20 p.m.
Officials say the break occurred near Parksmith and Market when a backhoe operator hit a 4-inch plastic gas line.
Avista crews were on scene and able to shut off the gas line.
Market was shut down from south of Hawthorn and north of Peone. All roads were reopened. People were asked to avoid the area.
Only one home in the area had to be evacuated according to officials. Crews had to unsure no trains ran on nearby tracks until the issue was resolved.
