SPOKANE-- Firefighters removed the driver from a car that wrecked at the bottom of the South Hill Thursday.
Officials say a car was speeding out of control down Ray near Fred Meyer just before 5:30 p.m. when it sheared off a power pole and ran over a homeowner's fence. The car ended up half in the street, and half in a yard.
Police say the driver may have hit the power pole and hydrant on purpose.
Police are investigating the driver for possibly being under the influence. The driver is being treated for minor injuries.
Traffic is backed up in both directions on ray near the freeway.
