NEAR VALLEYFORD, Wash. -- A truck slid off the icy Palouse Highway and hit a supporting wire attached to a power pole around 7:10 a.m. Tuesday just west of Valleyford.

The driver of the truck and his passenger were not hurt.  Deputies did not issue any citations.

The power pole snapped and was hanging over one lane of the Palouse Highway near the intersection of Bruna Road, blocking the road to traffic in that lane.

Power crews expected to have the road completely open to traffic by this afternoon.

Black ice caused a second wreck along Palouse Highway and Valleyford road.

A KREM 2 News crew on scene said two teenagers were in a jeep when it wrecked. Both teens are okay.

Traffic was slow in the area, but no lanes were blocked.
