SPOKANE-- On Monday, Spokane County Traffic Engineers will start placing weight restriction signs on affected roads throughout Spokane County. The restrictions will limit the size and weight of vehicles that are allowed to travel on specific roads throughout the county.
The purpose of the restriction is to reduce the damage caused to the asphalt on the roadway as springtime approaches. These restrictions are put in place to protect the infrastructure of the roadways throughout the county.
Sheriff’s Deputy’s are going to allow a two day education period to the public before enforcing the restrictions on Wednesday.
The fine for violating the posted weight restriction is $411.00. Click here for the Spokane County Engineers web site that details the restrictions throughout the county.
