SPOKANE-- Crossing guards on Spokane's South Hill have made a plea to drivers to slow down. They claimed drivers are not being civil in school zones.
At 33rd and Grand, the crossing guards are fed up with drivers. They said drivers have been putting the kid’s safety on the line.
Katie Droter helps works at Sacajawea Middle School and mans the streets before and after school. "We’ve been honked at, sworn at (laughs) it’s been crazy," said Droter.
Droter said some drivers are out of hand. "We've had them drive up on the lawn to make right hand turn, they'll use sidewalks as right turn lanes."
Between 10 blocks there are two schools in 20 mile per hour zone.
The principal said those behind the wheel need to pay attention to the road.
