SANDPOINT-- The Sand Creek Byway opened Friday morning.
Crews opened all lanes to traffic by 9:00 a.m., and bike and pedestrian trails should be open by mid-afternoon.
The Idaho Transportation Department says the byway will maximize mobility and provide a safe, long-term solution to traffic problems in the Sandpoint area.
Crews started the $106 million project in 2008.
