SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- The Washington State Patrol said a woman died after having a medical emergency on I-90 around 7 a.m. Monday. The Medical Examiner's Office said she died from spinal cord and brainstem lacerations due to a cervical spine fracture due to a blunt head and neck injury.
Authorities said Paulette Siebenforcher, 55, was entering westbound I-90 from the Argonne on-ramp when she went off the roadway, crossed 3 westbound lanes of traffic and hit a barrier.
Siebenforcher was taken to Sacred Heart where she later died. Officials said Siebenforcher died after having a medical issue.
The crash partially blocked the left lane of I-90 while crews cleared the scene.
