A major change is just a few weeks away for drivers using US95 in North Idaho.
Crews open a new frontage road May 25th so they can start building a new highway.
Just east from the heart of Athol the new US95 is taking shape with a new overpass and interchange with Highway 54. Once it opens next spring it will serve as the main highway and wont cut through town like the old one did.
Some are worried that the new highway will bypass and hurt their businesses.
South of Athol, about five miles of frame work is laid for US95's new frontage road. This will be the main way north or south while crews build a new highway where the original one is.
The Athol interchange is expected to be done by April 2013 and the whole thing should be finished by fall of 2013.
