COEUR d’ALENE--Construction along Government Way in Coeur d'Alene is creating some grumbling with business owners on that road.

Crews are widening a half mile stretch from Dalton to Hanley Avenue and some folks say that's impacting their profits.

Government Way is a busy vein through Coeur d'Alene.  It’s lined with stores that depend on traffic, and some people say that's thinned out recently.

At the Men's Locker Room, manager Ricki Batson says they were bracing for the worst when the construction started this week.  Fortunately for them business is steady, but other stores in the strip mall haven’t been as lucky.

Other shops along Government Way are closing up or moving to new places.  Loren Walz just moved his vacuum store into the space next to the Men’s Locker Room.

City officials say they haven’t turned a deaf ear to the business's concerns and they have rules in place to not block any of the store's entrances.
