SPOKANE, Wash. -- The city needs the public's help clearing the streets and getting all abandoned cars cleared before snow hits.

Crews typically get about 400 calls a month for abandoned cars, roughly 40 of which are hauled off. All cars are tagged with a warning, and then hauled away if they aren't moved.

This is an "even year," so all cars must be parked on the even side of the street. If an abandoned car if parked on the wrong side, plows can't get through some of those narrow roads.

Towing fees will run drivers upward of $200. You can call the city with this complaint anytime of the year at 625-4246.
