POST FALLS-- Construction is ready to start near the state line in Post Falls, Idaho. A new interchange near Cabella's will help get people to the sporting goods store and other shops like Wal-Mart faster.
Crews should start getting to work next week and it shouldn't take to long before the interchange is open.
Post Falls City Engineer Robert Palus showed us the plans. The interchange will be at beck road next to the Jacklin Seed Plant on 1-90. It is about a mile away from Cabellas and the shopping center that also has Wal-Mart.
Plans show that the new road will also connect beck road to Seltice Way in Post Falls.
The project will cost about $30 million, and have an over-pass, and on and off ramps for both directions on 1-90.
Officials say this will help you save time getting to the mega-stores, because you wont have to backtrack your way through Post Falls. Currently, drivers have to get off I-90 and drive around a mile and a half on surface roads.
Construction should be finished by thanksgiving.
Officials say there shouldn't be any major delays why crews are working.
