SPOKANE, Wash. -- A vehicle fire blocked traffic on Interstate 90 during the Monday morning commute.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. between the Sprague and Broadway exits. Authorities say the driver was traveling eastbound when she called 911 to report the problem with her brakes. The 911 operator told the woman to put her car in neutral and pull over. When the woman did that, she says she heard something break and the fire started.
The driver escaped unharmed. Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly, but the car is heavily damaged. The vehicle is a Suzuki Aerio.
