COEUR D'ALENE-- The Coeur d'Alene Police Department traffic team and School Resource Officers will enforce a traffic emphasis begining the first day of school.

The first fday of school is September 4th.The increase emphasis will continue throughout the week. Officers will be patrolling the school zone areas while the Coeur d'Alene Fire Department helps children navigate their way across the marked crosswalks.

Officers plan to enforce zero tolerance for moving violations as well as failure to stop at crosswalks.

Fines for speed violations are $156.50 due to penalties being enhanced in a school zone.
