SEATTLE-- A woman was struck by a car while she was standing on Interstate 5 in Seattle Thursday morning.
The car was reportedly traveling freeway speeds when it hit her around 9:30 a.m. in the HOV lane of I-5 southbound at the Interstate 90 junction.
The woman was seriously injured and immediately rushed to Harborview Medical Center. Her condition is not known.
It's not clear what the woman was doing when she was hit.
No one else was injured in the crash. Only one car was involved in the collision.
The crash caused a lengthy backup through Seattle, adding to the already hectic morning commute.
