SPOKANE -- A decision on a flashy billboard lighting up Spokane's South HIll could launch a lawsuit from opposite sides of the issue.
Citizens for a Scenic Spokane told KREM 2 News about the billboard on 29th and Regal in March.
It has an added plasma screen that the group claims violates Spokane's sign ordinance.
Part of the ordinance states "a non conforming billboard may not be structually altered."
However, the company who added the plasma screen to the billboard, Lamar Advertising, says "the billboard is well within the code of the city and they stand by that."
Either way, the City of Spokane could be sued by both sides depending on the outcome of the decision on whether or not the sign violates the ordinance.
City officials say they hope to make a final decision on the billboard within the next two weeks.
