Big child porn bust in Spokane Valley

07:25 PM PDT on Thursday, July 17, 2008

SPOKANE VALLEY -- A Spokane Valley man faces federal charges after police found a giant stash of child pornography at his home.

Federal investigators say they found a large amount of video tapes in Mitchell Gilbert’s trailer, all filled with child pornography.

According to the indictment, officers have been looking at Gilbert’s actions since October of 2006.

Besides tapes, they also seized 30,000 digital and computer images of minors involved in sex acts.

Part of the reason behind the federal charges is Gilberts is accused of ordering the material...some from other countries...violating commerce laws.

A neighbor we spoke to, who did not want to go on camera, says Gilbert has lived in the valley for more than 6-years and basically keeps to himself.
