A car where a man shot himself and wounded his ex-wife is towed from the crime scene near Winona, WA. The window in the car is shattered and there appears to be a bullet hole in the left passenger door.
Myers said 40-year-old Ephraim Martinez abducted his wife, 32-year-old Alma Martinez, and took her down a rural road near Winona Monday afternoon where he shot her once in the head in an out building near Winona.
According to Whitman County Sheriff Brett Myers, the woman called 911 after she was shot and also text messaged family members so they knew where she was.
Her family came to the scene to get her and she was later flown by Medstar to a Spokane hospital where she is in stable condition and expected to survive.
Deputies found Ephraim's body in a car inside of the out building.
Before finding his body, deputies thought Ephraim could still be alive inside the out building and called in the Whitman County SWAT team to surround the building.
Alma lived with her family in Endicott.
