KOOTENAI CO., ID -- The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of a man stabbed to death by a woman near Hayden Lake, Idaho after he allegedly raped her on Thursday.

David Lynn Foreman, 41, of Rathdrum, Idaho died from an apparent stab wound.

Deputies responded just before 5:00 a.m. to the area of Hayden Lake Road and Hayden Creek Road to the report of a woman who said she had been raped and stabbed by Lynn.

The victim, whose name is not being released at this time, told deputies that she fought with her assailant and was able to stab him, and then flee in his vehicle.

The alleged victim was treated and released at Kootenai Medical Center yesterday for her injuries.

Investigators are continuing their investigation so it can be presented to the Kootenai County Prosecutor's Office for review.
