SPOKANE -- The heavy, wet snow falling across the Inland Northwest is beginning to take its toll on trees. We've received numerous reports of trees snapping under the weight of the snow.
Dan Jackson, KREM 2 News
Heavy snow caused trees to snap across the region.
A large section of a ponderosa pine fell across 39th Ave. on Spokane's South Hill, blocking traffic for several hours. The falling trees have also knocked down powerlines, causing scattered outages regionwide.
We also captured video of several fallen maple trees near Coeur d'Alene.
