The assault happened early on a Sunday morning, just after Washington State University's homecoming. A woman was walking to a friend's house when she says a man grabbed her and raped her.
Investigators say Kone was identified a few months later and they issued a warrant for his arrest.
Prosecutors are now in the process of bringing Kone back to Whitman County to stand trial.
