SPOKANE - Students were let back into Stevens Elementary School at 1717 E. Sinto in North Spokane before the start of class on Tuesday.

Authorities initially believed the school was suffering from structural issues possibly due to the weight of the snow.

As it turned out there was a problem with the ventilation system and classes resumed.

On Tuesday, the Spokane School District’s 29,000 students returned to school after Christmas vacation.

Heavy snowfall resulted in the students getting an extra three days off from school.
