PULLMAN - The Cougs will go for back-to-back wins Friday at UNLV, but as kickoff approaches, speculation concerning the status of starting quarterback Jeff Tuel grows.

After being limited in practice Monday, it appeared to be the same story for the WSU signal caller Tuesday. Tuel wore a soft brace on his right knee and did some throwing and light exercises while Connor Halliday took snaps with the starters.

The injury occurred early in the fourth quarter against EWU, with Tuel sitting out the rest of the game.

Mike Leach does not discuss injuries, so there is no official word on Tuel's status. Leach has expressed confidence in Halliday if he does end up in the huddle as he did against the Eagles.

WSU takes on UNLV Friday at 6:00 p.m.
