PULLMAN -- The Washington State football team opened spring practice on the Palouse on Monday.

It's the first of 15 practice for the Cougars. They'll scrimmage three times, including the final practice of camp in Spokane on April 16th.

WSU is trying to build on another dismal season last year. The Cougars finished the year just 2-10 with wins against Montana State and Oregon State.

Washington State opens the 2011 season at home against Idaho State on September 3rd.
