PULLMAN – Forward Davon ‘D.J.’ Shelton has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Washington State University men’s basketball team next season.
“D.J. Shelton will be a nice addition to our front court,” WSU head coach Ken Bone said. “With the departure of DeAngelo Casto we really wanted to add some height and athleticism and D.J. gives us both of those ingredients."
Shelton, a 6'9" 220 lbs. forward, played at Citrus College in 2010-11 as a redshirt freshman after transferring from Cal State Fullerton. Shelton averaged 12.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per game last season.
Prior to attending Cal State Fullerton and Citrus College, Shelton played high school basketball at East Bakersfield High School.
Shelton, whose uncle Lonnie Shelton starred at Oregon State and played 10 years in the NBA, joins an incoming class that includes guard DaVonté Lacy and forward Greg Sequele.
