PULLMAN -- The Washington State men's basketball team plays Pittsburgh this week for the CBI championship.
Unlike other college basketball tournaments, the CBI has a best-of-three championship series. Game one is scheduled for Monday night (7pm) at Beasley Coliseum in Pullman. Game two is Wednesday (4pm) in Pittsburgh. If a third game is necessary, it will take place on Friday (4pm) in Pittsburgh. All three games will be televised on HDNet.
Washington State (18-16) is likely without star forward Brock Motum. He's listed a questionable after he sprained his ankle in the CBI semifinals against Oregon State. Motum leads the Cougars with 18 points and more than six rebounds per game. KREM 2 Sports was told there's a "slim chance" Motum plays on Monday, but his chances look much better for Wednesday.
Pittsburgh (20-16) is out of the Big East Conference. The Panthers beat Wofford, Princeton and Butler to advance to the CBI championship series. Pitt's offense is paced by Ashton Gibbs (14.8 ppg), Tray Woodall (11.5) and Nasir Robinson (10.6).
