PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State linebacker Sekope Kaufusi was dismissed from the football team Friday for a violation of team rules.
Pullman police said Kaufusi was arrested Wednesday night and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police served a search warrant on his apartment.
Team spokeman Bill Stevens confirmed Friday that coach Mike Leach had dismissed missed Kaufusi from the team.
He is the second WSU linebacker to be dismissed since Leach became head coach. C.J. Mizell was arrested on an assault charge last month and dismissed from the team.
As a sophomore last season, Kaufusi had 42 tackles and two sacks in 11 games.
