PULLMAN – The Washington State University Student Conduct Board has dismissed football player Toby Turpin from the university.
He was essentially expelled for an undisclosed "academic incident." Sources tell KREM 2 Sports that he failed to reach a minimum grade point average for the second or third time while a student at WSU.
Turpin, a defensive tackle, was in his fourth season at Washington State. He totaled 52 tackles in 26 career games.
His departure means Mead High School product Dan Spitz, who is entering his sophomore season at Wazzu, has jumped to the top of the depth chart at defensive tackle.
