SPOKANE, Wash --- Former WSU football player and testicular cancer survivor, Riley Sorenson, received cards from the University of Idaho football team offering support and encouragement in his second fight with cancer.
His girlfriend, Elisabeth Haffner, tweeted a picture of the 16 cards and let people know what the picture was about.
The cards came from fellow offensive linemen, coaches and other players on the team. Haffner called it a wonderful reminder of their mantra through his personal ordeal, it’s bigger than football.
Sorenson is battling cancer for the second time, he beat the disease last year following both of his parents’ deaths. He was able to play his senior season at WSU but he is undergoing chemotherapy in Lewiston now.
