Benzel ready to tee it up at PGA Championship

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, MI -- One year ago, Ryan Benzell was one of only two PGA Professionals to make the cut at the PGA Championship at Southern Hills.
Thursday afternoon at Oakland Hills, he'll be looking to do it again.
The native of Spokane, Washington, 2001 Idaho graduate, PGA Head Professional at Mill Creek and 2008 Rosauers Open runner-up will tee off at 9:55 (pst).
For the first two days of the Championship, he will play along side Bryan Gay and Mathew Goggin.

Ryan Benzel finished 4th at the 41st PGA Professional National Championships. The finish was good enough to earn him a spot in the 2008 PGA Championship.
Benzel finished in a tie for fourth at the 2008 PGA Professional National Championship, which earned him a spot in the PGA Championship for the second straight year. He is one of 20 PGA Professionals playing at Oakland Hills G.C. this weekend.
In last year's Championship Benzelll shot a +17 (274) to finish last among the players who made the cut.
The PGA Championship is the fourth and final major of the year on the PGA Tour. Defending champion Tiger Woods will not play as he is still recovering from knee surgery following his win at the U.S. Open.
