SPOKANE -- Spokane Shock fans will now be able to watch their favorite football team on KREM 2 and KSKN 22 for the 2011 season. The Spokane Shock and KREM 2/KSKN 22 announced the exclusive local broadcasting deal on Thursday.
A majority of the televised home game broadcasts will be carried on KSKN, with an undetermined number carried on KREM. Additionally, KSKN/KREM will have the rights to locally broadcast road games.
"The move to make CW channel 22 (KSKN) the new TV home of the Spokane Shock allows us to bring the excitement of Shock football to a larger audience," majority owner/CEO Brady Nelson said. "KSKN is available on DISH Network, Direct TV, all cable systems and Over the Air. All of our fans, regardless of where they live, will now be able to watch Spokane Shock games on TV."
"We've enjoyed seeing The Shock quickly become the preeminent arena football franchise," said Jamie Aitken, president and general manger of KREM and KSKN. "KREM and KSKN's broadcast strength now brings a much wider viewing audience to the most exciting AFL team in the country. We're thrilled to be the new Home of The Shock."
Nationally, the Shock have been selected for the three AFL Game of the Week broadcasts on the NFL Network: March 25 (at Iowa); June 10th (hosting Philadelphia); and July 22 (at Jacksonville).
The defending ArenaBowl XXIII Champions will kick off the season on March 11 in San Jose against the SaberCats. The following weekend the Shock will return to Spokane to host the Cleveland Gladiators on Saturday, March 19.
