SPOKANE -- Spokane Shock head coach Rob Keefe officially announced Erik Meyer as this week's starting quarterback on Thursday afternoon.
That means Meyer will take the snaps in a critical matchup against rival Arizona (13-2) on Saturday. Spokane (7-7), winners of three in a row, needs a victory to stay in the playoff hunt.
Meyer has started two games for the Shock this year (wins against Chicago and Philadelphia), but missed last week's game against New Orleans with concussion.
A former Eastern Washington star, Meyer has completed 74.5% of his passes for 534 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He's only tossed two interceptions.
You can watch Meyer and the Shock live on KSKN on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7pm.
