SPOKANE -- Last August the Shock had a chance to tap into their championship pedigree. Instead, they fell to eventual ArenaBowl winner Arizona in the National Conference title game.
That result is providing some fuel these days.
Spokane opened camp last Thursday. After brushing off the cobwebs the squad was in full pads going full speed Tuesday.
Andy Olson has some notable returners from their bounce back campaign. The record-breaking QB-WR duo of Erik Meyer and Adron Tennell lead the offense. Return specialist and defensive back Terrance Sanders is still in the fold.
There are unfamiliar faces as well, with the franchise under new ownership. But the goal is the same for all, especially given last year's finish.
"The guys that were here last year, that loss still stings," Meyer said. "It was a little bit more motivation for us to work hard in the offseason."
Spokane wraps up camp March 8th, when they will also finalize their 24-man roster. The Shock kickoff the the season March 15th at home against Iowa.
