SPOKANE -- The quarterback who brought two championships to Spokane is coming back for the 2011 season.
Kyle Rowley re-signed with the Spokane Shock on Thursday. He's the seventh member of last year's championship team to commit to the Shock for next season.
“I don’t think there's a better quarterback in the league than Kyle,” head coach Rob Keefe said. “This is the ultimate team sport and you need a quarterback who has good leadership qualities, understands the game and is willing to do whatever it takes to win a game. We have that now with Kyle Rowley.”
Rowley set the single-season franchise record for passing yards (4,428) and passing touchdowns (100) last season. He completed 75% of his passes for 237 yards and nine touchdowns in Spokane's ArenaBowl XXIII victory in August.
That's not the only title Rowley won. He also led the Shock to an ArenaCup title in 2006 when they were an expansion team in arenafootball2.
