SPOKANE -- Quarterback Kyle Rowley is back with the Spokane Shock. Rowley practiced with the team Wednesday, in preparation for Spokane's visit to Arizona Friday.

The team announced Rowley's return on Tuesday. Head coach Andy Olson said the new quarterback will start against the Rattlers.

This is Rowley's fourth season as a member of the Shock. During his time in Spokane, he set franchise career records for passing yards (8,691 yards), passing TD's (182), rushing touchdowns (14) and rushing yards (143).

In addition to leading the Shock to an ArenaCup Championship in its inaugural season, Rowley also helped guide Spokane to its first AFL title in ArenaBowl XXIII in 2010.

"Kyle knows this offense and I expect him to compete for the starting job," head coach Andy Olson said. "It's rare to have a veteran with his experience available this late in the season and so we felt like we had to jump on the opportunity."

Rowley, who was released by the Pittsburgh Power earlier this season, will be eligible to play in this Friday's against the Arizona Rattlers.
