SPOKANE -- Defending ArenaBowl MVP Kyle Rowley is out as the starting quarterback for the Spokane Shock.
Head coach Rob Keefe made that announcement during Monday's taping of KSKN's "Rob Keefe Coach's Show".
That means Bill Stull will take the snaps on Saturday at home against the Dallas Vigilantes.
"I have to make tough decisions to do what's best for my team," Keefe said. "Hopefully this sparks Kyle Rowley to get better, and now we can see what Bill can do."
Rowley led the Shock to an ArenaCup championship in 2006 and the ArenaBowl title last season. He's struggling this year though, throwing 11 interceptions over the first eight games. Rowley ranks eighth in the AFL in passing efficiency (111.8) and seventh in passing yards per game (284.6).
Stull, a former quarterback at the University of Pittsburgh, has seen limited action this season. He's thrown one pass and it was an interception.
The Shock face the Vigilantes Saturday at 7pm at Veterans Memorial Arena. You can watch the game live on KSKN 22.
