Seahawks RB Eddie Lacy 'perfectly on track' after weigh-in

The Seattle Seahawks open the 2017 NFL regular season on the road, facing off against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Running back Eddie Lacy has been carrying a heavy load this summer, not only tasked with learning the Seattle Seahawks’ playbook but also having to slim down to meet the hefty weight incentives as provided by his one-year contract.

Lacy was scheduled for his third weigh-in with the Seahawks last Tuesday with the hopes of earning another fat check in the amount of $55,000. Per his bonus clause, the running back could tip the scale at no more than 250 pounds.

With all the drama surrounding the Seahawks’ training camp so far, it’s no wonder the results of Lacy’s most recent weigh-in flew under the radar.

“Yep, perfectly on track,” coach Pete Carroll responded when asked on Monday whether or not Lacy has met all his weight requirements.

Here’s a photo of Lacy on the eve of his third weigh-in.

“Eddie is doing great,” Carroll continued. “He hasn’t missed anything. He’s been very attentive to everything that we are doing. He can catch the football well, we know he can run thick and heavy. You don’t get to see all of that right now.

“He’s in good shape, he’s done everything we’ve asked him, he’s done a great job.”

Lacy’s contract calls for seven total weigh-ins this seasons, which could net him $385,000. He’s passed the first three with flying colors and has routinely detailed his “Beachbody” diet plan progress on social media.

While Lacy’s weight seems to right on track, he’s still recovering from an ankle injury that could see him somewhat limited in the preseason.
