SEATTLE – Seahawks Wide Receiver Doug Baldwin met privately with Seattle Mayor Ed Murray Tuesday to continue the conversation about police training and tactics.
A source said the meeting, which lasted more than an hour, took place at the Seahawks training facility in Renton.
Baldwin and Murray had both publicly declared their interest in meeting each other to discuss "building bridges" and police training. Baldwin previously called on all 50 Attorneys General to review training procedures. He has since met with members of the Seattle Police Department and spoken with Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson.
Baldwin, whose father was a police officer, has taken a leadership role on the issue, which has transcended sports and culture ever since 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling for the National Anthem.
