Excitement begins as Washington State starts a new season

KREM2 will tackle a lot of questions regarding the Washington State football team as we near the first game of the season against Montana State, but since it's day one, let's just enjoy seeing the guys back on the field.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State football opened the 2017 season with a helmets-only practice on Rogers Field and Martin Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The Cougars will practice in Pullman again Thursday at 2 p.m. before heading to Sacajawea Junior High School in Lewiston, Idaho, Friday, Aug. 4. WSU will spend a week in Lewiston, similar to past seasons under Coach Leach.

KREM2 sports director Darnay Tripp traveled to Pullman to get a look at the Cougs on day one. He talks about first day excitement, the new wide receiver group and an experienced running back core.
