Sharp wins 2017 Rosauers Open in wild fashion at Indian Canyon G.C.

ROUND 3

Wow. What a final round this was. All eyes were on Derek Berg early, but the former Husky could not get anything going on Sunday finishing with a 13-under par, good for a tie in 3rd place. Day 3 was dominated by two men, NIC coach Russell Grove and Walla Walla's Brady Sharp who came out of nowhere to make a run at this thing. Sharp entered the day at 5-under par, which was seven back of the leader. Sharp proceeded to sink 11 birdies missing the tournament record by one stroke. Sharp would enter the clubhouse at 16-under par, but Grove would rattle off six birdies in the final seven holes to, what we thought, win at 18-under par. After the round was over, Grove was assessed a two stroke penalty for something that happened on hole six, meaning we had a tie! The championship would come down to a playoff where Sharp would hit his 12th birdie of the evening to win the 2017 Rosauers Open title and $135,000.

ROUND 2

Day 2 ends similarly to Day 1 as former Washington golfer Derek Berg leads the field entering the final round. He sits at 12-under par, which gives him a two stroke cushion heading into Sunday.

ICYMI: Derek Bayley outlasted 166 golfers at the Men's Amateur Championship in Oregon, but ends up losing on the last hole to Emmett Oh of Houston.

ROUND 1

With defending champion and Washington State golfer Derek Bayley playing in the Men's Amatuer Championship in Creswell, Oregon (match play), we will definitely have a new champion in 2017 vying for the $135,000 grand prize. Here are the highlights from Day 1 at the Indian Canyon Golf Course.
