SPOKANE, Wash. - The signs of thousands of teams and fans packing downtown streets were all but gone Monday morning.

Hoopfest volunteers spent the night cleaning up all the courts, hoops, and piles of litter scattered across downtown after the weekend’s festivities.

Joann Farnsworth was one of the many volunteers helping clean up.

“We start at 630a.m. with the cadets setting up their tent and we start every year with the food court and we go in front of the food court, in the food court, all around the back.....pick up all of the garbage, we set out all of the cans, and we do all of the recycling.”

Many players began the recovery process themselves the morning after Hoopfest.  As always, there were bumps and bruises to be had among the seven thousand teams who participated.  Over 500 injuries were reported Sunday and another 500 Saturday.  Most of the injuries were cuts and sprains.  At least 20 people were treated for dehydration.
