SPOKANE -- Hoopfest was interrupted Saturday when a fight broke out and guns were pulled.  A quick response kept the violence from ruining the day or injuring more people.

Hoopfest has been around for 21 years.  Organizers say Saturday's incident is not going to damage the future of the event.  They say their experience and partnership with the Spokane fire and police department is what helped get the incident under control quickly.

Day two of Hoopfest looks just like day one.  Thousands came to downtown Spokane to watch, cheer, and enjoy being in the sun.  This all happened despite the face violence erupted at Spokane Falls Boulevard and Howard.

But what was more surprising to many who were down at Hoopfest was how fast everyone jumped into action to catch the men who are suspected of starting it all.

Hoopfest organizers give credit to the community and law enforcement.  They say their training over the years was a success by keeping people safe, and getting the situation under control.

The Spokane Police Department says the three who were injured in the shooting suffered minor injuries.  All have been treated and released.  Police also ask that if you have any video or pictures from Saturday's event to please call Crime Check and share the information.
