SPOKANE -- One elite team defended its Hoopfest champion, while two new teams were crowned at the world's largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
TBA won its second straight title in the women's elite championship by taking down Acme Concrete Paving, 20-17. It's the third consecutive year the two teams have played for the women's title (Acme Concrete Paving, then named EXLGS, won the first meeting).
Two-time defending champs Tonicx (with former Gonzaga star David Pendergraft and Ferris product Erik Benzel) couldn't make it three in a row in the over 6' championship. They were taken down by Mamma's Boys 20-13 in the title tilt. Mamma's Boys are four brothers from Lincoln.
There were two brand new teams in the 6' and under championship. Welcome Home Spokane battle Desert Horse. Behind the play of MVP Inderbir Gill, Welcome Home Spokane won its first ever Hoopfest championship, 20-13.
