SPOKANE, WA. -- In its 20th year anniversary, Hoopfest 2009 concluded with some of the best championship games in the event's history.
In the six-foot and over division, Team Tonicx, lead by ex-Gonzaga forward David Pendergraft and Ferris High School product Erik Benzel took down Seattle's Finest 20-18. Benzel was the tournament MVP for his division.
Associated Messenger claimed its third-straight Hoopfest six-foot and under championship with a 20-18 victory over the Pterodactyls. Matty McIntyre took home MVP honors for his play.
The women's division crowned a new champion this year, as EXLGS (Ex-Lady Griz) fended off a late rally from TBA to win 20-17.
