KAMLOOPS -- The Spokane Chiefs saw the Kamloops Blazers score three late third period goals for a 4-1 win on Wednesday night.
Kamloops jumped out to a 1-0 lead after one as Matt Needham banged the puck past Chiefs goalie Mac Engel at 17:17 of the period. The shots were even at ten apiece after one.
Dominick Uher pulled Spokane even with his 5th goal in the last two games as his shot from the right circle beat Kamloops goalie Cole Cheveldave at 4:23 of the second period to make it a 1-1 game after two. Uher's team leading 21st goal of the season was assisted by Mitch Holmberg and Dylan Walchuk.
In the third, Kamloops would score three goals in the final 6:11 after a five-minute major penalty on Spokane defenseman Corey Baldwin for a check to the head. Brandon Herrod and Brendan Ranford scored on 4-4 situations, while Austin Madaisky scored a 5-3 power play goal. Kamloops outshot Spokane 30-21 in the contest. Mac Engel made 26 saves to earn second star honors.
Spokane returns home Friday to host the Victoria Royals at 7:05pm.
