The Spokane Chiefs lost their second straight game at Vancouver in as many nights as the Giants skated to a 7-3 win in game two of their Western Conference playoff series. Vancouver now takes a 2-0 series lead as the series now shifts to Spokane for games 3 and 4.

Vancouver took a 2-0 lead after one on a power play goal by Neil Manning at 8:10 and a Jordan Martinook goal at 10:20. The Chiefs would outshoot Vancouver 19-10 in the second period, but the Giants would score three times to lead it 5-0 after two. Marek Tvrdon would have two goals and an assist in the period to lead the Giants in the second.


Spokane would score back to back power play goals early in the third period to get on the board. Steve Kuhn's second of the playoffs from Davis Vandane and Mike Aviani at 1:03 would make it a 5-1 game. Mitch Holmberg would notch his first of the playoffs on the man advantage from Aviani and Kuhn at 3:05 to bring the Chiefs within 5-2. Manning notched his second power play goal of the game at 8:07 of the third to put Vancouver back up by 4 at 6-2. Holmberg scored his second of the period from Jason Fram at 10:54 to cut the lead in half at 6-3, but Brendan Gallagher put home his second goal of the night at 14:40 to cap the 7-3 win. Spokane outshot Vancouver 41-29 in the game, while going 2-6 on the power play and 4-7 on the penalty kill.


The series will now return to Spokane for games three and four on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
