The Spokane Chiefs won their third straight road game as the Chiefs defeated the Prince George Cougars for the first time this season 4-1. Marek Kalus led the way with a goal and an assist.
Prince George jumped in front 1-0 on a Daulton Siwak rebound of his own shot at 7:39 of the first period. Spokane would respond with Kalus' 18th goal of the year from the slot from Cole Wedman and Mike Aviani at 15:56 to tie the game at one after the first.
Spokane would take their first lead of the game on Todd Fiddler's 12th goal of the year at 10:53 of the second period. Fiddler's first goal since January 25th was assisted by Davis Vandane and Collin Valcourt. Darren Kramer would tally his 20th goal of the season just 41 seconds later from Mike Aviani and Kalus to give the Chiefs a 3-1 lead after two periods. Spokane outshot Prince George 26-10 through 2 periods.
Dylan Walchuk would extend the lead to 4-1 on his 7th goal of the season from Steve Kuhn just 44 seconds into the third period. Mac Engel did the rest as he turned aside 17 Prince George shots to gain the win as Spokane outshot PG 38-18 in the game.
Spokane will close out their 4 game road trip against the Cougars Saturday night at 7pm. Mike Boyle will have the call on 790 KJRB beginning with the pre-game show at 6:30pm.
