SPOKANE -- The Spokane Chiefs will open the home portion of the 2010-2011 regular season on October 2nd against the Tri-City Americans.
It will mark the 19th time in the last 21 seasons, and fifth year in a row, that the two have kicked off the Chiefs’ home schedule in the Spokane Arena.
Spokane will travel to Tri-City one week prior to help the Americans begin the regular season on Saturday, September 25th.
The remainder of the Chiefs schedule will be set at the annual WHL Western Conference Scheduling meeting in late July.
We do know that Chiefs will play seven preseason games, including one home game (Eagles Ice-A-Rena) on September 18th against the Kootenay Ice.
Spokane will play three exhibition games over Labor Day weekend from September 3rd-5th at an event in Everett. They'll face Tri-City, Seattle, and Portland.
The Chiefs will also take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on September 9th in Kennewick in their first of two games at a preseason tournament there. Spokane will then play Tri-City on September 11th to finish the tourney.
The Chiefs will travel back to Tri-City to play the Americans again on September 17th.
